Directions: From Clearwater Junction, follow highway 83 north 10.1 miles to the Placid Lake turnoff.  Turn left on Placid Lake road and follow the road 3 miles to the lake.  Stay to the right around the lake, past a number of private cabins.  About 1 1/2 miles along the lake shore you will see a state Fish, Wildlife and Parks day-use site on your left.  From that point, continue on approximately four more miles and look for a road to the right. The road number is 17662, but it may not be signed.  The lake and campground are only about 1/4 mile off the main road, but that final 1/4 mile is very rough
